Blachford Lake Lodge Trip 2011

The trail into the lodge was okay on the smaller lakes but the bigger lakes were fairly rough. Seen worse but also seen better. Upon arriving at the lodge we had a few cocktails and went for supper. After supper the majority spend a hour or so in the hot tub followed by a drink in the lounge.

After a delicious breakfast on Saturday morning and putting together a lunch we headed down to Great Slave Lake, through the Thor Lake Exploration camp, stopped at the Hole in the Wall for lunch then travel about 20 km east to view the cliffs at the east end of Blanchette Island. Saturday night we had another great supper and headed to the hot tub to soothe the weary bones.

After breakfast on Sunday morning we relaxed, prepared our snowmobiles, packed our toboggans and got ready for the trip back to Reid Lake. After lunch we headed off and were back at Reid lake in about 2 hours. Fortunately, all machines made it with no injuries. A good time was had by all.
